Tesla Model 3 and Y top the safety crash tests. Tesla also has more active safety features. With Driver Safety engaged, Tesla’s fleet gets accidents less frequently than an average car, 5.64 million miles per accident vs 0.67 and 1.24 for Tesla w/o active safety.
Many new outlets report that Tesla has left out the goal of building 20 million vehicles per year in this year’s impact report. It could be a signal that Tesla is moving away from a focus on volume and more on Full Self Driving, Robotaxis, Optimus humanoid robot, and AI. The 2022 Impact Report at:https://www.tesla.com/ns_videos/2022-tesla-impact-report.pdf has the following statement regarding its production goals:
“By the end of the decade, Tesla will need to build many more factories with the goal of ultimately producing 20 million vehicles and over 1,000 GWhs of energy storage per year. Each one of these products will avoid many tons of CO2e throughout its life.”
