This means the material engineering, chassis design, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, communication network, brakes, suspension, battery pack and motors work are complete. It also means the design of the production line is also done. It means they have figured out how to make the stainless steel body from raw material. They have all elements and tools of at least one production line installed. They will run this at very slow rate the smooth it out. Once that’s optimized then they will expand capacity and increase the production rate. From the experience of the Tesla Model 3 and Y ramp, there is still a lot of hard work ahead to scale the production ramp but the Cybertruck has completed a major milestone.
What plagues most EV startups after reaching this milestone is the companies lack the funds to continue to the next stage. It will take a lot of capital to reach volume production. For startups without the funding, they end up going bankrupt. For Tesla, this would not be a problem as Tesla has cash and is profitable from from sales of Model 3 and Model Y.
