Tesla Berlin Gigafactory achieved 3k Model Y weekly production rate 12/18/2022

In a tweet from Tesla, they showed photo of Berlin Gigafactory workers and congratulate the team for achieving 3000 Model Y weekly production rate. Projecting this rate to 52 weeks translates to 156,000 annual production. On December 15, 2022, Giga Texas also achieved 3000 Model Y weekly production rate milestone. The increased production rate lowers production unit cost and help with margins as the factories are able to attain operational leverage, generating more Model Y on the same fixed labor and machinery cost. It gives Tesla pricing flexibility by enabling them to lower the price if necessary to bring in more demand without hurting margins as much. If Tesla can lower price, their cars become more affordable to more consumers.
