Tesla Model Y All-Wheel Drive $51,490

Most Tesla cars are built to order. Some cars are also available preconfigured for immediate sale. These inventory cars are searchable via https://www.tesla.com/inventory. As of this writing, the new 2023 Model Y All-Wheel Drive is now for sale at $51,490. This is a $4,000 discount compared to the Long Range Model Y. A day earlier it had been $500 cheaper. As these are the most affordable Model Y, demand is likely high. These Model Y have 279 miles EPA range and 0-60mph in 5s when configured with 19″ wheel. This compares to 330 miles and 4.8s for the Long Range. For those within the income limit of the EV credit, this car also qualifies for $7,500 Federal Tax Credit which lowers the price to $43,990. The 279 mile range is good enough for a majority of drivers. For longer trips, Tesla’s widely available Superchargers can extend the range for pretty much anywhere in the US with a 30 minute stop to recharge. These Model Y are built on a production line in Texas using the new 4680 structural battery cells. They also use front and back single piece castings produced by Idra Group’s Giga Press die casting machines. Using this production technique, a single piece casting replaces about 70+ parts. This reduces the number of robots needed, factory floorspace and time to assemble pieces. This improve production efficiency and ultimately the production cost. Tesla is able to pass these savings to the customers by offering it at a lower price. A YouTube user, Kilowatts compared 4680 Model Y to Fremont Model Y Long Range with his Apple Watch to compare noise level and he concluded the 4680 Model Y is quieter at 62dB going 60mph vs the Fremont Long Range Model Y at 66dB. The Model Y All-Wheel Drive model also have a rear hatch cover.
