Reuters reports Tesla lowering Model Y output in China for last week of 2022.

Reuters reports that Tesla plans to suspend Model Y production at Shanghai the last week of 2022. It based its reporting on an internal memo and two unspecified person. They reported that Tesla may be cutting Model Y production 30% for December based on the knowledge of the two people Reuters spoke to. This information has not been confirmed by Tesla officially and the company has not publicly commented on the report.

The real official numbers will come out in the December production report and we will learn more in next quarterly report.

If the reporting is accurate, it could be due to demand slowing, supply issue or plant upgrades or any combination of that.

Thinking long term, will EV demand increase? The trend across the globe appears to point to EV adoption increasing and EV as being superior to ICE vehicles.
